Dear Stitching Friends,

Needleworks is Doing Our Duty and Changing How We Operate

*Updated April 6, 2020

On April 3, 2020, the Governor of the State of Alabama signed a stay-at-home order for the entire state that remains in effect until April 30, 2020. During this time, our workroom remains closed to all foot traffic and curbside service is no longer available. We remain available via email, shop@gritsneedlepoint.com, and we will check voicemail. But email is the preferred method of communication during our stay-at-home order.

Your continued support of Needleworks is overwhelming. We thank you for your loyalty, and our finishers thank you for providing work for them. All of us love this business and we want to continue our service to you when the current order is lifted! We encourage you to stay home and continue reducing your stress level by stitching. This challenge will be met by all of us working together and we look forward to seeing everyone once this period ends.

We request that you please hold all canvases for finishing until after the Alabama stay-at-home order is lifted. We are holding completed items at our workroom and will contact you once we are given the all-clear.

With gratitude and concern,

Judith, Hazel, Rhonda, Judi, Laurie, Jill, Lynda, Linda, Heather

Original Statement:

At Needleworks, we acknowledge that the coronavirus outbreak is impacting everyone we serve, and we are committed to the safety of our customers and staff.

In Jefferson County, Alabama, small businesses providing non-essential services have been instructed to close businesses effective by 5 pm, Friday, March 20, 2020. Due to the seriousness of this pandemic, we are encouraging everyone to take refuge in their homes and postpone visiting us at Needleworks until we are issued an “all-clear” by the State of Alabama.

We remain available to assist you in answering finishing questions and concerns, and will continue service by phone, mail, email, text and FaceTime. We may be reached at 205-870-5191 and shop@gritsneedlepoint.com.

UPS, our primary shipper, remains open for business and is continuing all pickup and delivery. They are aware of safety concerns and have changed how customers sign for packages to minimize contact by using a ‘No-touch No-sign” Delivery, delivering packages without requiring signatures. We will contact you to confirm your shipping address prior to shipping your finishing items to you.

Please be sure to include your Finishing and Monogram Forms with any needlepoint works you send to the Workroom.

Our finishers continue to work from home and deliver items to the Workroom once they are complete. If you would like for us to text a picture of your completed item, we will be happy to do this for you. It is uplifting to see so many pretty creations arrive! Until you are able to receive your creations, be confident that we care as much about your needlepoint as you do. We have secure storage for your needlepoint projects until they can be delivered to you.

As we experience these uncertain times together, we are encouraged that stitching time will be a valuable tool to calm us all. Our restrictive measures are not meant to create alarm or panic but to ensure we’re doing our duty to lower everyone’s risk to this deadly virus.

It remains an honor and pleasure to serve you. Thank you for trusting us with your business.

Judith, Hazel, Rhonda, Judi, Joanne, Linda, Lynda, Jill, Laurie, Aubrey, and Molly
